I absolultely loved my stay at The White Rock Hotel. I'd go back there in a second. It was a great price for the location, being literally right across the beach and from the pier! My room had a queen-sized bed, which was perfect for just me, and the room was spotless, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and super clean, and the water pressure was strong and perfect. The weather in late May is blustery and rainy, so don't be surprised by that if you're new to Hastings or your visiting from somethere other than the UK. That said, you can enjoy a nice meal inside the hotel while looking out at the ocean from inside the dining area. AND, it was quiet in my room despite the concerts taking place across the street at the pier. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful and personable. This might end up being the place I stay at every time I visit Hastings from San Francisco. It's a lovely place, and you're within 15 min walking distance to either St. Leonard's-On-Sea or Old Town Hastings. Fabulous!
Set amid 38 acres of woodland and gardens, 3 miles away from the historic towns of Hastings and Battle in East Sussex, the hotel is an ideal base to explore 1066 country.
This large house is just a 5-minute walk from the seafront, local shops and St Leonards Beach. It offers bright, modern rooms, and has a free on-site parking lot.

I’ve stayed in many places over the years, and this was definitely the best. Everything was clean and comfortable, the owners are super-sweet and helpful, and the breakfasts were amazing. I will certainly be back.
On average, 3-star hotels in Hastings cost $119 per night, and 4-star hotels in Hastings are $127 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Hastings can be found for $190 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).

The old town of Hastings and St Leonards were lovely, a fantastic skate park (Source Skatepark) by the beach and lots of attractions by the beach. The mini train rides and Smugglers adventure is fantastic and a good way to escape bad weather days.
Hastings high street/ main town is run down, uninviting and in desperate need of regeneration.

Hastings is a gem that i hadn't discovered before even though it is only two hours away from our home by car! it can certainly give Brighton a run for its money!
I hadn't appreciate that it is so big and therefore staying in St Leonards is quite a stretch by foot. We did use a bus though on one occasion which would work well if you had longer to figure it all out.
In the future I would seriously consider staying longer there. The May day events were so well organised too and every pub ( The Smugglers) and restaurant ( the Thai bookshop in George Street, Webbe's sea food restaurant on the sea frornt and Fagins in George Street)we went into we were greeted wholeheartedly-despite it being busy. The food in each was excellent.

I love Hastings. But I don’t appreciate it when the apartment I booked didn’t happen to exist.I had to book another place which was fantastic. The whole experience was stressful and not welcome, it was supposed to be a relaxing break.

Hastings has weathered recent years rather better than many towns. The Old Town area which was a little run down on my last visit has now been restored with many restaurants and the narrow streets had a friendly vibe missing from places like The Lanes in Brighton. The town centre is nothing special but only has a few empty shops. St Leonards seems to be its more upmarket twin although the transition between towns is seamless. The coastal area is varied including an under cover "bottle alley" and some good coffee shops (Goat Ledge being my favourite with a hippy vibe). It also felt safe with groups of people of all ages just enjoying being outdoors by the sea with some music. There seem to be plentiful buses to explore further afield and there are two funicular lifts to the top of the cliffs for a more scenic view and to visit the castle. Other towns on the south coast may have a better reputation, but I doubt that you'd get a hotel with sea view at such an affordable price and the locals are universally friendly.
The location of Tower House 1066 was great for the purpose of why we had went, we had an event at the Oval hastings and it was a 15 minute walk from the venue. The town centre is also within walking distance around 15-20 minutes. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful telling us where we could go if we wanted to get food and also helping us with travel tips. The rooms were clean and the beds were really comfortable, each room came with 2 bottles of water and had shower gel / soap as well as towels in each room.
A lovely large spacious light and airy room in a gorgeous old building. Full of charm, character and original features. Building and room very clean (and smelt lovely). We wanted for nothing. Very convenient central location. Beats the chain hotel I used to stay in whilst in Hastings hands down, and much better value for money. Didn't really miss breakfast on-site as so many options so close by. We will be back!!
This isn’t a hotel - it’s a guesthouse. So you’re emailed key details which you unlock from a key safe. But it’s GREAT. Really nice touches - huge towels are something most hotels should pick up on - and very safe and secure. Right by Hastings train station and it will take you less than 5 mins to walk down to the sea. Book with total confidence. It’s like having your own apartment.
i love the property. it femt like a home aWay from home. this was my first time in hastings and j was nervous. we brought our little brother to boarding school in hastings ti we wanted somewhere convinient incase he wanted something. its a 5 minutes walk from the shopping centere. the tv has netflix so i was able to catch up on my shows. the wifi is strong. overall amazing
Lovely room and facilities provided, delicious breakfast and great choice of hot and cold drinks included in stay.host Tracey went above and beyond to accommodate all her guests and made us feel very comfortable during our stay at the old town b&b.💯 recommend it when staying in Hastings.plus it was central to everything you want for a break away.
The Black Rock House was exactly what I needed after a long journey from New Zealand. Clean, tidy, well-equipped, spacious, and not to mention the host, Vincent, was incredibly helpful and accommodating (and cooks a great breakfast). The house isn't in the centre of Hastings, but it's a reasonable and straightforward walk into the town.
The hotel is fantastic and both the owners are very welcoming and they also provided one of the best breakfast we have for a long while in a hotel.
has a lovely large and quite garden to sit in and relax and will be visiting again for a longer stay than jus t the one night
The hotel had everything you needed, i.e., TV, kettle & supplies, storage space (open shelves more than drawers) and en-suite bathroom. It is located on the sea front nearer the pier than old town but it's not far from the centre of Hastings.
Comfortable room, good service, friendly staff, Sarah explained all the details regarding the hotel and the room clearly and in full.
Overall a very enjoyable stay and I will certainly book there again the next time I'm in Hastings.
Amazing hotel. It was a delightful juxtaposition between Las Vegas trashy fancy and actual fancy. Caution tape, chandeliers, beach view, high tea, kind staff, tiny lifts, ancient windows, amazing views.
Breakfast was delicious
. Location was perfect for us. Our son lives right down the street. We will differently be coming back & will highly recommend to our family & friends to stay at yr hotel.
This a friendly hotel. Breakfast is excellent. There is a bar with comfortable seating. It is on a good bus route. There are many buses into St Leonards or Hastings.
